So some of you know about my recent attempt to validate this trend calling talent I have by buying a pair of vintage high waisted seventies bell bottoms before the trend hit. (PS check out H&M's pants this spring) A lot of you still don't believe I have a sixth sense for this but I keep telling Trent about things that are going to come out and then they totally do and he is a believer now. Anyways I bought a gorgeous pair of vintage jeans. Almost perfect condition, they even had the tags on still:
It was an excellent plan except for one tiny flaw. Apparently GAP has skewed my idea of how women's sizes work so much that what I thought was my size is really three sizes too small. Go figure. There was no way I was going to fit into those jeans without significant cosmetic surgery. If any of you are in the market for a really fabulous pair of jeans in about a size 4 let me know.
Fast forward to now. Trent's brother is getting married in August and I need a dress. And it has to be a bright summery dress so that makes my wardrobe of black and gray out of the question. After weeks of looking at things that were probably too short or would need a shirt under or over I decided to give vintage another shot. I mean ALL of shabby apple's dresses are pretty much just vintage inspired anyway right? Why not get the real thing? I picked out three for the same price as one new shabby apple remake and made sure they would all fit generously. Worst case scenario I can take something in right? SO here they are:
They are in the mail as we speak, stay tuned to find out if I actually can pull this off! Now to find a really great belt...

The last one -- ya. That is pretty much worthy of being an outfit when Martha finally decides to invite you to join her on TV or put you on the cover of her magazine. Just gorgeous.
I love the last one too! Except I wonder if it would be too hot as it looks like a polyester jersey and I know the Wedding is on Lake Crescent but we can pack some heat in August!
I love the first one...it looks fab. Where did you order them from? I would totally be down for buying those jeans from you...maybe I could squeeze myself into them. Do you know what the measurement is of the waist in inches?
I bought them all off Etsy. I thought it was all handmade stuff but there's a huge vintage section. Warning, it's kind of addicting. We'll have to see how heavy the last one is when it comes! Hopefully it won't be too hot!
Becca—I'll go measure them. It would warm the cockles of my heart if you could wear those pants.
They are all SUPER cute! I've only seen the last one on you so far and I can't wait to see the others! I'm going to follow your lead and look for vintage on Etsy. Woo hoo shopping girl! xo
